Tree Pruning & Trimming

Improve tree health, structure & appearance

Good pruning is mostly about restraint. Taking the right small amount off the right places keeps a tree healthy, safe and in proportion for years. Taking too much off, or cutting in the wrong place, causes damage that can take a decade to show.

Crown reduction

Bringing the overall height and spread in while keeping the tree’s natural shape. Used when a tree has simply got too big for where it stands, or to reduce the sail area on an exposed specimen.

Crown thinning

Selectively removing a proportion of the smaller branches throughout the crown. Lets more light and wind through without changing the outline, which helps both the tree and the garden underneath it.

Crown lifting

Removing the lowest branches to raise the canopy clear of a lawn, path, driveway or pavement. Often the simplest fix for a tree that has become an obstruction rather than a problem.

Deadwooding

Taking out dead, dying and broken branches. Mostly a safety job, and the single most useful thing you can do for a large tree overhanging anywhere people walk or park.
