A flexible synthetic rope system installed high in the crown. It stays slack in normal conditions so the tree keeps flexing and strengthening naturally, and only takes load in high wind or if a union starts to move.

Support weak branches and prevent damage
Not every structurally suspect tree has to come down. Where a heavy limb or a split union is the problem rather than the whole tree, a brace can take the load and buy the tree a great deal more life.
Static bracing
A rigid steel cable or rod system for a union that has already failed or moved. Holds the parts in a fixed relationship. More restrictive than dynamic, and used where the situation calls for it.
When it is the right call
Usually for a mature or veteran tree worth keeping, a co-dominant stem with included bark, or a heavy horizontal limb over something valuable. It is a genuine alternative to removal, not a way of dodging one.
Inspections afterwards
A brace is not fit and forget. It needs looking at periodically to check the hardware and see how the tree has responded. We will tell you what interval yours needs.
